I believe that the qualities an educated person should hold are that of being responsible, openminded, having great communication, and being able to adapt to different environments. These skills in particular are important to me because an educated person has to be able to develop and acquire skills that relate to their environment which is always changing. Responsibility is key in any educated person’s life because it reflects how they are able to prioritize what needs to get done, and get it done in a timely manner. It also reflects their understanding of how things work and exercises anything they’ve learned in the past. An educated person also has to be openminded for obvious reasons. You can only learn so much if you only allow yourself to learn what you want to learn. It’s important to broaden your interests in learning and be open to different things because there is so much to take in and still so much to learn. As an educated person you also need to be a great communicator. You should always maintain communication with those you are working with to ensure clarity. I also mean “having great communication” in broader terms like keeping in communication with what’s going on around you, for example the news. I am currently a Computer Repair major at LaGuardia Community College. My early interests in taking things apart and putting them back together, while learning how the pieces worked, contributed to my current passion for fixing computers. I hope to further pursue a career in this area. I would like someday become a Computer Administrator while continuing to fix computers on the side for friends and family. After LaGuardia, I don’t plan to join the work force immediately but instead continue with my education and work towards earning a bachelor’s degree. I also plan to someday work as a high school teacher or college professor teaching a computer repair course somewhere in the late future. With all the skills I’ve acquired during my years in LaGuardia, I hope it’ll further advance me on my career path to becoming a Computer Administrator.
