My Scholars Experience
Throughout life one has a variety of experiences; moreover, one can say the experiences
that help them grow as a person are the experiences they can truly cherish. Personally, I feel I
grew as a person on many levels as a result of my e-Portfolio Scholars experience; in addition, I
thoroughly enjoyed being able to participate in such an event. Being able to sit down in a room
where people are willing and able to help you create and improve your e-Portfolio is incredibly
motivating in more than one way.
In partaking in the scholars’ experience, I was able to greatly improve upon not only my
writing skills, but my interpersonal skills as well. In completing the multiple class and project
reflections, my writing skills further developed and stayed sharp. Having been given the
opportunity to present my completed e-Portfolio, I was able to become more comfortable
speaking in front of large audiences. My personal skills were improved by being honest with the
audience and by me sharing my progress and learning experiences with them; moreover, I
became more confident in my ability to explain what my academic life has been like and where it
is going. The opportunity to have the scholars experience has been appreciated by me as well as
my family; in addition, I’ve been able to take some of the skills I acquired from both the
professors and students running the e-Portfolio as well as my fellow scholars and pass them on to
members of my family as well as my fellow students. The scholars experience improved upon
my academic abilities such as writing and presenting to audiences; furthermore, it strengthened
my motivation to do well in school and to succeed in my career goals. It’s the kind of experience
where one can grow into a more improved student and person as a whole.
