Analytical Essay “Honey” The movie Honey is a highly effective drama that motivates people to keep their dreams alive. The culture of Hip-hop, dance, ballet, and salsa has a lot to do with the affiliation of “Improvisation of Dance”, used in the early modern days where people like Curtis L. Carter tells how the Dance of art, culture , and attitude are fused together to make dance moves. Honey featured a young Latino girl who grew up on the East side of New York City, claimed to be the ghetto and poverty. Honey Daniels was an inspired hip-hop dancer, trying to become a star. Honey worked three jobs: a bartender, video store clerk, and a dance teacher at the local recreation center. She was determined to help out her family and make herself become a star. She would dance at the night club where she was a bartender. She would battle local talent around for a shot to be seen by a video producer. As a result of her hard work and determination she landed her self a job with the best video producer in the business. Honey was young, cute, talented, and determined to follow her own dreams. She danced for some of the best artists in the music industry: Ginuwine, Jadakiss, and Missy Elliott. Her fame only lasted for a few minutes; she got involved with mischievous people who only wanted to use her. Throughout her struggles and hard times, Honey came across some children around the neighborhood who she tried to help stay off the street. She tried to help one of the children, Benny, by expressing just because you stay in the ghetto that doesn’t mean that you have to act that you are from the ghetto. Honey knew that Benny had potential and a good attitude that could be geared towards dancing, so she took him up under her wings and listened to his problems, and tried to help him out. Dancing wasn’t honey’s first goal anymore; she was all about the children. The building where honey would teach was closing down. She came up with this really great idea that would benefit children who didn’t have money to pay for dance lessons to build a dance studio for them. Honey made flyers for the event called a Hip-Hop Dance Off to help low income children live out their dreams. After she displayed the idea to people they thought that she was a joke, but honey was determined to make it. She had to prove the world that she wasn’t a quitter. Honey had drive, talent, and love for what she was doing and no one could stop her. She inspired the children she taught that the only way your voice will be heard is if are you speak. She convinced people to loan money, fundraise, and do whatever it took get money, so she could host her Hip Hop Dance Off. She accomplished her dreams, a lot of people showed up for her benefit. She taught those children that if you believe in your dreams they will come true. An inspired dancer and a dance teacher dancing and doing what she loves and believes in. Hip –Hop is it a dance? Or is it a figure of speech? A hip hop dancer struggles to become a star, but inspire children to live out their dreams and love it.
