- Hired two people: Brianna Flores-Saenz as research engineering associate, Clarissa Torres as
Liaison officer who will be working with the Eagle Ford center, would like to post for grant writer
for TASK Force. KDJ
B. Bailey for E. Torres
- KISD community fair in Aug, need to know by July 23rd if you want to organize dept activity.
Contacted KISD for mini camp, details to come. Math camp over next week, ESF next week and
also hoggie days.

 Faculty searches- EVEN: Lucy Camacho signed her letter (KDJ), CHNG: have people lined up
but need position approved (PM), ME: visiting prof signed offer letter, energy position letter
already done & Dr. Peel prepared request but no ad yet (SO), EECS: lecturer announcement
went out, Dr. Diersing prepared evaluation matrix, we rec’d 15 apps (RC).
 Writing Intensive Courses- rec’d draft on CHEN but sent back w/notes, need ME & EVEN. BB
 P&T- very few people going up: Drs Chisholm, Ren, Heidari, Clapp & Duarte. SJN
 2012 publications- rec’d CEAE & EVEN. SJN
 New building ideas- handout given w/ possible upgrades. C. Montiel
 Virtual Desktop/Server for computer labs- no money to refresh, on hold. SJN
 FY 2013 budget wrap up- deadline is July 15th. SJN
 Merit raises- still not final, but coming up soon, list coming out this Monday. SJN
 Hoggie Days- speed up the advising, need more professional advisors present, need to clean
up minor mistakes. BB/AM
 Articulation agreements w/ TAMIU- draft handout given. SJN
 Commencement- Saturday, August 10, 2013, 11:00am. SJN
 Cookout- Thursday, Sept. 5th, 4-6pm. SJN
 Opening Faculty/Staff meeting- Friday, August 23rd, 10:00am. SJN
