1
Introduction (1/2)
• DL and/or UL data assignment may appear in
one of the subframes in one frame
• It is not power efficient to decode all the AMAP IEs in each frame/subframe
– Especially for non-periodic services
• A kind of MAP indication mechanism is
required in multi-subframe resource allocation
2
Introduction (2/2)
• Option A: an A-MAP IE (MAP-IND A-MAP IE) to
indicate the appearance of care-of A-MAPs
• Option B: an extended header to indicate the
appearance of care-of A-MAPs
3
Message Format of MAP_IND A-MAP IE
• AMSs enabling A-MAP Indication are indicated the associated
A-MAP indexes by using their STID and A-MAP bitmap.

variable
Based on DL/UL ratio and number of AMAPs. The value can be obtained in SFH.

Care-of A-MAP Indication Extended Header
• The extended header is sent onto a downlink
“data channel”
• When detecting the header, AMS knows which
A-MAPs to be decode in the following
subframes
• Extended header format
HT
AI
HT: header type
AI: A-MAP indication. Each bit indicates the appearance of
care-of A-MAPs

Method Comparison
• Option A:
– Pros:
• The indication appears more dynamically
– Cons:
• Larger signaling overhead
• Option B:
– Pros:
• Less signaling overhead
– Cons:
• The indication is restricted by the transmission timing of DL data
• MS processing time should be considered (2~3 subframes)
• Data transmission may be affected

Proposed Text
• Add a new section:
- 15.3.6.4.2.9 A-MAP indication (MAP_IND) A-MAP IE
The MAP_IND A-MAP IE includes two fields to indicate the station ID (STID) and the care-of AMAP indication bitmap, respectively.
