available on the UNC Admissions Website. Students with 45 or more credit hours will be considered
for Upper Division Honors.

Personal Statement: Please write a personal statement of 1000 words or less addressing both of
the following two prompts:
1) Explain a little about yourself and what draws you to seek a deeper learning experience through
Honors, and
2) Upper Division Honors requires an Honors Project: either research, creative works or an applied
project. What types of project are you be interested in pursuing? Please explain your interest and
intentions.
Letters of recommendation: You must submit two letters of recommendation from professors,
counselors, advisors, or supervisors who know you well enough to comment on your interest in
learning and ability to write and complete honors level coursework.
Please list the names of two people who you plan to ask for letters of recommendation.
