Wael William Diab – Bio Wael William Diab is currently Director, Technical Strategy in the Office of the CTO working on long-term technical strategy for Broadcom’s Enterprise Networking Group. Previously, he held the role of Director, Marketing in Broadcom’s Networking Infrastructure Group. Prior to Broadcom, he worked at Cisco for nine years in various technical, architectural and business leadership roles, focused on next generation networking products and technologies. Wael is an active member and contributor within the IEEE standards community. He was Chief Editor for the EFM (802.3ah) standard, and has been a key contributor on previous and subsequent Ethernet projects. Today, Wael serves as Secretary of IEEE 802.3 (Ethernet) and is an Officer in Ethernet's Executive Committee. He is a member of the IEEE-SA Standards Board RevCom Committee. He is a published author, co-authoring the book "Ethernet in the First Mile: Access for Everyone" and contributing to several other books. He holds BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, a BA degree in Economics from Stanford, and an MBA with honors from the Wharton School of Business. He has developed over thirty five patents in the networking space.
