Nathalie Lecoq CHU Sainte-Justine Member of the McGill Research Group on Health and Law nathalie.lecoq.hsj@ssss.gouv.qc.ca Nathalie Lecoq is senior legal counsel and coordinator of Legal Services at Sainte-Justine University Hospital Center ("CHU Sainte-Justine"). She obtained a B.Sc. (Psychology) at McGill University before completing the BCL/LLB program from McGill’s Faculty of LaW. A member of the Quebec Bar since 1998, Ms. Lecoq also obtained her Masters in Law and Bioethics (LL.M) in 2005 from McGill University (Dean's Honour List). After practicing law in private practice in one of Montreal's top firms, she joined the CHU Sainte-Justine in 2008. Ms. Lecoq's health law practice focuses in part on administrative law issues related to health and social services, including the legal aspects of internal management of public health care institutions. She also advises the office of the Executive Director and senior management on the duties and obligations of the CHU Sainte-Justine as a legal person, a public body and a university hospital center. She has developed an expertise in legal risk management and innovative partnerships. Ms. Lecoq has spoken at numerous conferences on health law in Canada and abroad including at the 2008 World Congress on Medical Law in Beijing, China. She is a member of the McGill Research Group on Health and Law and Co-Chair of the Committee on the dispensing of health and social services to persons from the cultural communities of Quebec that advises the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services on these matters.
