the impact of armed conflict on people’s vulnerability to
trafficking in persons, including sexual and labour exploitation

Objectives of the meeting
1. To secure expert input on the issue of trafficking in armed
conflict in order to strengthen the capacity of the Special
Rapporteur to make a substantial, rights-based contribution to
understanding of this phenomenon and effective responses.
2. To invite feedback on the background paper prepared for this
meeting.
3. To examine and review the draft recommendations contained
in that paper in order to ensure their relevance, usefulness and
completeness.

mandate’s work in this area:
(i) how can the Special Rapporteur best contribute to highlighting
this issue and pushing for action / change?
(ii) What partnerships / strategies could be pursued?
(iii) Are there one or two issues that deserve greater attention from
the mandate?
