As a Budget Administrator in the Faculty of Education, reporting directly to the Financial Manager, I have played a pivotal role in providing the financial support and guidance that has allowed the faculty to increase efficiency, accelerate process time, and decrease error margins. In this role, I am responsible for providing accounting and financial support to the faculty, while ensuring that internal and external reporting policies and procedures are met. I demonstrate my ability to troubleshoot and take initiative to solve complex reporting issues, and recently was incharge of collecting and updating a spreadsheet for reporting purposes. By reprioritizing my tasks, I had to extract the information received, contact those who had to resubmit information and provided assistance by clarify what information was outstanding. Not only did I receive all the necessary information, but I was able to document effective processes and procedures for tracking data moving forward. In this situation I demonstrated effective analytical, communication and interpersonal skills to quickly diagnose each spreadsheet and pinpoint areas of concern and then communicate this information to the area contacts in a clear manner. In addition to my experience, I also possess a DEC III in Finance & Administration from Vanier College.
