Clearly, the issue of desertification is a global concern which involves multiple stakeholders, and while there are attempts to minimize the expansion of desert land, there are still many steps that must occur. Fortunately, multiple environmental groups and agencies have begun the work to address the most dire concerns. Those solutions absolutely must not only continue but also expand to an international level. It is our obligation as citizens of the world to care for our planet and for those inhabiting it, especially those in our most arid, non-fertile regions. Supporting environmental organizations and taking action to plant trees and vegetation are necessary steps that are vital to the overall health of our environment and the delicate ecosystems of the world.
