Permission Numbers

• Allow a student to enroll via self-service in a controlled enrollment/consent required course

• Allow a student to enroll via self-service in a course even if they do not meet the requisite

(course pre-requisite or restriction)

• Allow a student to enroll via self-service in a closed course

Student Specific Permissions

• Need to enter student’s ID number on the permission page for a class section. Student can automatically enroll via self-service; as the system recognizes that the student is eligible.

• Permission is specific to that student; student cannot share their permission with another student.

• Flag is set on the class section if going to use student specific permission numbers.

General Permissions

• Can track in Campus Solutions when you issue a general permission number to a student

• Permission number is not assigned to a specific student so student could give the number to someone else, but the number can only be used once

• Student must enter permission number as one of the steps to enroll in the class via self-service

• A list of general permission numbers can be set up a head of time so the faculty can distribute as necessary
