• Need to enter student’s ID number on the permission page for a class section. Student can automatically enroll via self-service; as the system recognizes that the student is eligible.
• Permission is specific to that student; student cannot share their permission with another student.
• Flag is set on the class section if going to use student specific permission numbers.
• Can track in Campus Solutions when you issue a general permission number to a student
• Permission number is not assigned to a specific student so student could give the number to someone else, but the number can only be used once
• Student must enter permission number as one of the steps to enroll in the class via self-service
• A list of general permission numbers can be set up a head of time so the faculty can distribute as necessary
• Encouragement of Student Responsibility
• Business Offices and Instructors do not have to wait for the form to be processed
• Form does not get lost
• All permissions are stored in the system of record
• Saving Trees (less paper)
• Comfortable level between enrollment distribution and centralized enrollment in the
Registrar’s Office
