Dear Riker Hill 4th and 5th Grade Parents,
I am Mrs. Cohen, and I will be your child’s choral director, once again, Riker Hill. A reminder that
Chorus commences each “day 1” (blue day) throughout the school year. Students should arrive at RHE
no later than 7:30am. We will meet at the main entrance and begin rehearsal promptly at 7:35 in the
music room. We will be preparing for our Spring Concert, to be held on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016. The
Concert will be performed in the evening, at 7:30PM in the Riker Hill Gymnasium. Please mark your
calendar ahead of time so your child will have no conflicts and so you can be sure to enjoy your child’s
musical accomplishments!
Below find the days and dates your child will be attending chorus this year, highlighted in
yellow. It is very important that your child be on time, as warm up begins promptly at 7:35. The
exercises prepare their young singing voices and promote proper technique, which keeps their vocal
chords safe. Please help our students keep their attendance consistent by weekly checking the six day
schedule for rehearsal days. I look forward to helping them to commit to creating a wonderful Spring
Concert for your enjoyment.
