 Encouraged members to attend monthly GSS meetings held in Rock 301 every first Thursday
Student chair openings – Dan
 There are committees within the department which have student chairs available, including
those which choose colloquium speakers and give input on prospective new faculty members
Faculty Liaison report – JT
 New PGSA faculty advisor – Kathy Kash
 Professor lunches will continue this year
Budget Report – Amanda
 went through itemized list of 08-09 budget (this can be found on the website)
 had $154.09 rollover from this year, so total budget is $654.09
 will be applying to GSS for funding for food at the Pumpkin Drop
 would like to have a couple fundraisers throughout the year
GSS report – Dave
 GSS budget approved in senate
 v-fund – current students can obtain reimbursement for travel/thesis expenses up to $250
 upcoming events go to gss.case.edu or contact david.m.jacobs@case.edu
Sports & Activities – Sean
 sponsor summer softball team and currently are looking for soccer team members
 e-mail sean.bryan@case.edu with interest in setting up a physics sports team

Fundraiser – Amanda and Adam
 would like to offer a Case Physics t-shirt for students and faculty to purchase, approximate shirt
cost would be $5 and would be sold for $10
 due to size of PGSA budget, would need to have a pre-order and use that money to pay for the
shirts
 would like to have a physics department 't-shirt design contest' and give the person with the
winning design a free shirt
