Curriculum Changes for 2011-2012

The meeting was called to order at 9:02 a.m.
All curriculum changes were placed on line during the week prior to this meeting
to be verified by members of this committee. Mr. Grimes asked department
heads to give a brief description of changes in their areas. Mandated changes by
WECM would serve as the justification for all WECM changes. Mr. Grimes also
stated that the council would not vote on each course, but a signature page
would be signed by each member after all courses had been presented and
approved. Recommendations submitted by chairs/directors for Due Process
Committee would also be approved by the same signing.
Mr. Grimes thanked Gary Poffenbarger for proof reading the changes.
Mr. Grimes encouraged the council to review the changes for the domino effect.
He stated that it was their responsibility to check how the changes would affect
their area.
Mr. Grimes informed the group that any program that required COSC 1401,
Introduction to Computers, has been replaced by BCIS 1405, Business
Computer Applications. He also stated that Dane Dewbre’s office will do a
search to change all COSC 1401 to BCIS 1405 in the catalog.
After a brief explanation of all curriculum changes, Mr. Grimes asked the council
if there were any questions or objections to the proposed changes. All changes
presented were approved unanimously.
