You may already be familiar with the oft quoted Forming/Storming/Norming/Performing/Adjourning stages developed by Tuchman. Right now, you’re at the beginning of your team’s forming stage and probably wondering what’s the best way to approach these new people in your life. You start by discussing two important topics: How will we behave towards one another, and, how will we get the job done? Consider the questions that follow as an opportunity to break the ice. You can pass the document back and forth using the file exchange tool in your teams personal space. When you are satisfied that you have reached consensus on the issues that are important to the team, save a clean copy and post it where the team can have access to it.
