Legal Liability for:
1. Loss of or damage to property, not owned by or in the custody or
control of the Insured.
2. Death of or injury or disease to persons other than employees
happening in connection with the Business as specified in the Policy.
3. Nuisance, trespass to land or trespass to goods or interference
with any right of air, light, water or way, easement or quasi easement.
including Liability arising from goods sold, supplied, renovated or
serviced (Products Liability).
Geographical
Limits
Worldwide, subject to the proviso that any products must be supplied
from within Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the
Isle of Man.
Note
1. Notification of products supplied to North America must be given to
Insurers in advance.
2. Notification of employees visiting North America whom will be
engaged in manual work to be given to Insurers in advance.
Indemnity Limit
GBP20,000,000 any one occurrence and/or series of occurrences arising
out of one event Limited to GBP 20,000,000 all events in respect of
Products Liability & Pollution losses, during any Period of Insurance.
Limited in all to GBP10,000,000 arising out of claims made and suits
brought against the Policyholder in a court of the United States of
America, it’s territories and possessions or Canada.
Principal
Extensions
The following summarises the principal extensions applying to your
policy. This is not a conclusive list and you must refer to your policy
for full details.
1. Cover extends to include Motor Contingent Liability to the University
arising out of the use of employees vehicles on your business
2. Indemnity to students(£1,000,000)
3. Cover extends to include Legal Liability arising out of activities
undertaken with Regional Health Boards and National Health Trust
Hospitals.
4. Private Treatment by University Employees
5. Veterinary Treatment – limit GBP2,000,000 any one animal
and GBP5,000,000 in total any one period of insurance
6. Treatment Endorsement
7. Data Protection Act 1998
8. Residual Employers Liability cover in respect of non-UK employees
based overseas.
9. Servicing Indemnity in respect of vehicles owned by Glasgow
Caledonian University and the University of Strathclyde for a limit of
GBP1, 000,000 subject to an excess of £250 each and every loss.
10. Legal Defence Costs, as defined in Section 3 of the Policy – Limit of
Indemnity GBP250,000 in any one period of insurance.

Exclusions etc
The following summarises the principal conditions/exclusions
applying to your policy. This is not a conclusive list and you must
refer to your policy for full details
a) Cover for pollution or contamination is restricted to sudden,
identifiable, unintended and unexpected incidents
b) This cover specifically excludes the risk of "Clinical Trials"
c) This cover specifically excludes Data Recognition failure incidents
d) This cover specifically excludes losses arising out of or in connection
with products supplied in the knowledge that they are to be
incorporated in aircraft or other aerospatial craft or devices
e) War and Allied Risks
f) Radioactive Contamination
g) Ownership, possession or use by the Insured in relation to
mechanically propelled vehicle aircraft or other aerial device
hovercraft, waterborne craft
h) Legionella
i) Advice, Design or Specification provided for a fee.
j) Fines or Penalties.
k) Compensation ordered or awarded by a Court of Criminal Jurisdiction.
l) Aggravated, exemplary or punitive damages awarded by any court
outside Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle
of Man.
m) For mental injury or fear of suffering bodily injury, death, disease or
illness arising out of actual or suspected exposure to Asbestos,
Asbestos Dust or Asbestos Containing Materials.
n) Loss of or damage to any Property which at the time of the event
giving rise to such legal liability is owned by or held in trust by or in
the custody or control of the Insured other than as detailed in
Exclusion d) of the Policy.
