Nov.9-13 Read: Animal Babies in Grasslands; What do you think the author
wanted us to learn in this story? Who were the animals from the story
yesterday? What was the author trying to teach us? Which is your favorite
animal? Why? Name the animal baby, and see if students can name the mother.
Nov. 16-20, 23 &24- Read: Wild about Bears, Bear Snores On and other bear
books
Stories about Thanksgiving. Diverse cultures /histories-Contributions of Native
American cultures.

HOMEWORK: See monthly calendar for homework. I would love for you to
read with your child every night for at least 10 minutes. I send home little
readers for your child to read and they can read their library book with you!

Fun games at home to help review skills include: Chutes and ladders
-sort the laundry
-count the groceries as you shop
-let your child help you write out the grocery list
-have your child point out numbers in the environment
-count cars as you travel over the holiday season
-use magnetic letters and have your child form words with them
-after you read a story have your child tell you what they just read-this is great for recall
of information! Can they answer who , what, when , where, why questions about the
story
-Have your child help when you bake-talk about measurement.
