1st Quarter
 I can round numbers to the nearest 10 or
100.

within in 1000.

subtract within 1000.

 I can relate repeated addition to
multiplication grouping.
 I can identify a multiplication word
problem.
 I can solve a multiplication word problem.
 I can create my own word problem using
objects and equal groups.
 I can recognize area as an attribute of
squares and rectangles.
 I can measure the area of twodimensional regions (rectangles and
squares) by counting the unit squares
(square cm, square m, square in, square
ft, non-standard units).
 I can find the area of a rectangle with
whole-number side lengths by tiling it.
 I can show that the area is the same when
multiplying the side lengths or adding as it
is when I tile it.
