Canned Food Collection- classrooms are now collecting canned food items for the Mooresville Soup
Kitchen in their preparation for the holidays. Please send in canned items to be donated. We appreciate
your support.
Picture retakes – 11/18 Retakes will be Wednesday, Nov. 18. Parents wishing to have retakes must
return the entire original package. Original picture packages will be held in the classroom until retake
day and then given to the students to present to the photographer. Please send in any retake packages.
Focus Skills for this week:
ELA- cause and effect and sequencing order of events from a story
This week we are reading a historical fiction story called “William’s House.” The focus of
instruction will be on understanding new vocabulary and causes and effects.
Math- Test on our Subtraction Topic Unit and begin graphing unit. Third graders are
expected to learn how to analyze, collect data and complete single and multi-step word
problems from a picture graph and a bar graph.
Writing- begin opinion writing frame piece
Science – wrap up our Heat transfer lesson- Our plan for Friday is to create a solar oven
to make a s’more.
