World War II part 1 Vocabulary
1.) internment camp- Detention centers where relocated Japanese Americans were sent
after Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.
2.) Nazi Party- The political party headed by Hitler: National Socialist German Workers'
Party
3.) Aryan supremacy- Nazi belief that people of Northern European heritage were racially
superior to everyone else.
4.) Holocaust- The systematic attempt to rid Europe of all Jewish people.
5.) concentration camps- Nazi prisons for civilians known for their cruelty and death.
6.) fascism- A political philosophy in which total power is given to a dictator and individual
freedoms are denied.
7.) aggression- Physical attack against another country.
8.) Anti-Semitism- Hatred toward the Jewish people.
9.) dictator- A leader who rules with total authority, often in a cruel manner.
10.)rationing- Giving out scarce items on a limited basis.
