Assignment: The goal of this assignment is to practice usage. For each of the following
words, I’d like you to write two sentences. The first sentence should be a sentence that
you find that uses the word. This should be a sentence that you understand. The second
sentence that you write should be your own sentence, but it should be guided by your
found sentence (see example below). The website vocabulary.com has sentences on the
lower right, or you can search your own (please reference).
Example
Found sentence: The anti-immigrant sentiment was the latest sign of Europe’s inability
to develop a coherent strategy to deal with the influx of migrants.
My sentence: The general was criticized for his inability to develop a coherent plan to
contain the violence.
