Classroom Rules and Requirements
Mrs. Wendy Sherrill 2008/2009
Classroom Rules
1. Be working and seated at all times (even before the bell rings) unless instructed otherwise.
2. Bring ALL materials – paper, pencil, and calculator – to class and be prepared when the bell rings.
Consequences for missing materials will follow lunch detention procedures.
3. LISTEN and FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS the first time they are given.
4. COOPERATE with your classmates. RESPECT each other, the teacher, others’ belongings, and
the classroom.
5. Remain seated until I DISMISS you (NOT the bell!!!!)
6. ALWAYS do YOUR BEST!!!! Cheating is unacceptable and therefore you will NOT receive
ANY credit.
7. Personal grooming should not be done during math class. Do not use combs, brushes, mirrors, or
cosmetics.
8. You must use have and use your agenda book to be excused to the restroom. If restroom
privileges become a habitual problem you will not be allowed to go anymore (before school and
between classes is now your option). The exception to the rule is when one has a written and
documented note from a doctor explaining why you need to go to the restroom so often. My
advice would be to take care of business between classes. No Agenda = Lunch Detention
9. NEATNESS COUNTS!!! If I can’t read it, then it is wrong!!
10. NO PROFANITY!!
11. POSITIVE ATTITUDE REQUIRED
12. ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY!!

Reminders about attendance:
There are consequences for tardies. Two tardies are equal to One absence from that particular
class.
If you have more than 3 absences in a 9 weeks you will not receive credit for that nine weeks.
If you have more than 6 absences in a semester you will not receive credit for the class and will
need to repeat the course.
If you are absent, YOU are responsible for getting YOUR missed assignments. YOU have 5 days
to make up work – after that, it is a ZERO.
If an assignment was due or a test was to be taken the day you were absent – you will be required
to hand in the assignment or take the test the day you return!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!
*An assessment test will be given every 4 ½ weeks. A midterm (Benchmark) will be at the end of the
first 9 weeks and a final exam (EOC) will be taken at the end of the semester.
*Quarterly Assessments will count 12.5% of the 9 weeks average. The midterm will count 25% of the
first 9 weeks average. The Final Exam will count 25% of your combined overall average.
