Letterland: Getting to Know the Letterlanders
Short Vowels: a, e, i, o, u
During this unit, we will be reintroduced to
Annie Apple, Eddy Elephant, Impy Ink, Oscar
Orange and Uppy Umbrella. These short vowels
do not say their name. They say the short
sound a, e, i, o, and u. Ask your child about The
Sounds Trick that we have learned.
Reading: We will read focus on reading to
self and building up stamina as we read to
self.
Science: We will begin our unit on sound. It
is a long unit that will take a couple of
months.
Math: Understand that the 3 digits of a 3digit number rep. amounts of hundreds, tens,
and ones.

Homework:
 Read nightly for 20
minutes and record
on reading log. Your
child will bring home
a separate folder for
their homework. They
have already received
a folder for their daily
mail and now they
will have one for their
homework.
Requests:
 I’m in need of glass
baby food jars.
Announcements:
Your child will need to have a book
box for this year’s reading books&
activities.
