Finding Density

Density: The concentration of matter in an object. (How much stuff is packed into the
object!)
Purpose: To find the density of an object using mass and volume.
Density Formula: Density = Mass (g) ÷ Volume (mL)
Procedures:
1) Find the mass of each object.
2) Find the volume of each object. For regular shaped objects – use a ruler to find the length,
width, and height in centimeters. For irregular shaped object use the water displacement
method.
