Upcoming Events Date: November 9th- 13th nicole_testa@iss.k12.nc.us A Glance at the Week… Reading ~We will be reading “Night Letters” this week. This story is realistic fiction. This means it as a setting that can seem real but the story is made up. We will be focusing on drawing conclusions and asking questions. Math ~We will continue working on multiplication this week. We will review arrays, repeated addition, skip counting, and commutative property of multiplication. We will focus on 2s, 5s, and 10s this week, as well as reviewing 0s and 1s. We will learn how to multiply on a hundreds board and learning the other properties of multiplication. Science ~We will be finishing up with our skeletal and muscular unit this week. We will touch on skin a little bit and play some review games for the test on Monday. *Study Guide went home 3 weeks ago* Media Week Skeleton and Muscular Study Guide went home 3 weeks ago. *This test is not open note! The kids have to study the definitions, facts, bones, and muscles. *The test will be on Monday 11/16 11/10 Chick-fil-A 5-8 11/11 No School-Veteran’s Day 11/16 Skeletal and Muscular Test 11/13 Field Trip money due 11/20 Allison Woods Field Trip 11/25-11/27 No School-Thanksgiving Break *Let’s see who is reading my newsletter? Send in a multiplication fact you have practiced with your child for a pirate ticket tomorrow!! Notes and Reminders -We will have a reading and spelling test on Friday this week. *Reading tests are open book Skeletal and Muscular Test on Monday, November 16th. **No notes on this test, please help your child study If you have not sent in your field trip money, please do so whenever possible…the last day for money is the 13th If you said you were going to chaperone the field trip I sent home a form today that has to get filled out and turned into the office. Please send your kids to school with a snack every day! We have snack each day around 8:45 *Conferences are about half way through! I have enjoyed meeting with everyone so far and look forward to meeting with the rest of you soon to discuss your child’s progress so far this year!!
