Appetizers: The Articles of Confederation ($10) o Create a Venn Diagram comparing the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution. o Draw a comic strip that highlights 3 weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation. o Create a crossword puzzle related to the Articles of Confederation. You must have at least 5 questions/answers for your puzzle. Main Course: The First Five Presidents ($20) o Survey your classmates. Of the first five presidents, who was the most successful? Make sure you have them explain their reasoning. Graph the data and write a paragraph describing what you learned and your reaction to it. o Write a journal entry for 3 of the first five presidents. Each entry should be at least a paragraph long. It can be about any aspect of the presidency, but should be as historically accurate as possible. o Create a song or rap that lists the first five presidents and an accomplishment of each. Dessert: The Constitution ($30) o Write a newspaper article describing the Constitutional Convention. Describe who was there, where they met, why they met, when they met, what they argued about, and how they compromised. o Write a letter from the perspective of a minority group (women, Free African Americans, Enslaved African Americans, indentured servants, Native Americans) to the founding fathers. What are the most important issues facing the new country? What is your opinion on these issues? Be sure to discuss slavery and suffrage. o Create a chart that shows the origins of the Bill of Rights (the other documents used to create it) and describes through words and pictures those documents as well as the Bill of Rights.
