Menu Review
Due Date: Thursday, April 23rd
Today’s special: Choose one appetizer, main course and dessert for $60 (points). Use your
notebook, class textbooks, and online encyclopedias to help you. See the rubric on the back
to self-evaluate.
Appetizers: The Articles of Confederation ($10)
o Create a Venn Diagram comparing the Articles of Confederation to the Constitution.
o Draw a comic strip that highlights 3 weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation.
o Create a crossword puzzle related to the Articles of Confederation. You must have
at least 5 questions/answers for your puzzle.
Main Course: The First Five Presidents ($20)
o Survey your classmates. Of the first five presidents, who was the most successful?
Make sure you have them explain their reasoning. Graph the data and write a
paragraph describing what you learned and your reaction to it.
o Write a journal entry for 3 of the first five presidents. Each entry should be at least a
paragraph long. It can be about any aspect of the presidency, but should be as
historically accurate as possible.
o Create a song or rap that lists the first five presidents and an accomplishment of
each.
Dessert: The Constitution ($30)
o Write a newspaper article describing the Constitutional Convention. Describe who
was there, where they met, why they met, when they met, what they argued about,
and how they compromised.
o Write a letter from the perspective of a minority group (women, Free African
Americans, Enslaved African Americans, indentured servants, Native Americans) to
the founding fathers. What are the most important issues facing the new country?
What is your opinion on these issues? Be sure to discuss slavery and suffrage.
o Create a chart that shows the origins of the Bill of Rights (the other documents used
to create it) and describes through words and pictures those documents as well as
the Bill of Rights.
