Intonation Chart 1. Warm up properly and tune carefully with a tuner. 2. Slowly play a chromatic scale, beginning on the lowest practical note on your instrument to the highest practical note. Make sure you play slowly with your best tone. 3. Do not look at the tuner while playing the scale. Your partner will look at the tuner and mark a number and symbol in the box + for sharp and – for flat. Example: +15 indicates 15 cents sharp.
