Mrs. Gargan’s Procedures and Routines
WHAT DO I DO WHEN . . .
I enter class? Enter the classroom only if an adult is present and only after previous students have exited.
After you enter, immediately take a seat, organize, and begin working.
1. Write your homework down in your agenda (leave on top corner of your desk to be stamped)
2. Put completed homework on your desk for teacher to check.
3. Complete your bellringer for the day in your spiral notebook.
I have a question? Raise your hand and wait for me to call on you.
I am absent? See me or look online for information on missed assignments and activities as soon as
possible. Complete the missed work and submit it ON TIME!!!
I am taking a quiz or a test? Do not talk until given permission. Do not leave your seat for any reason
during the quiz or test. When done, QUIETLY turn in your assessment and immediately return to your
seat. If you finish early, find something to do at your desk that does not interfere with anyone else in the
room and is quiet.
I need to make up a quiz or test? Schedule a time with me and show up at the scheduled time. You will
need a signed pass to come to my room during resource.
I finish my work early? Always have a book to read (B.O.B.). If you finish work early, double check
everything that you have done. If everything is “perfect,” read your book silently.
I need to sharpen my pencil? Sharpen your pencils at the beginning of class. If you do not have a pencil,
ask your peers to borrow one before asking me for one.
I need to go use the restroom? You are to use the restroom between classes. If an emergency arises,
please raise your hand for permission. You must sign out in your agenda in order to use the restroom.
I have trash to throw away? Trash is to be thrown away at the beginning and end of class.
There is a fire drill? Line up single file and quietly proceed to the designated area outside with your
teacher. NO TALKING!!!
Class is over? Remember that the bell does not dismiss class, THE TEACHER DISMISSES THE
CLASS. Make sure that you have recorded all important due dates, organize, clean up, and leave the room
in an orderly fashion.
