Communism
Kennedy said the US would "pay any price, bear
any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend,
oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and
success of liberty."
He also asked for personal sacrifice when he said,
"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what
you can do for your country."
CUBA! – Fidel Castro and
the Bay of Pigs Disaster


In 1959, Fidel Castro
led a Communist
Revolution against a
corrupt dictatorship in
Cuba. Many Cubans
fled to the US.
The CIA trained and
supported a group of
Cuban exiles to try to
retake the island from
Fidel Castro, but they
failed and were
captured.
