Students begin walking to class at 7:35am

The report card will have the following letters as indicators of development:

Below
*With assistance, student struggles to demonstrate partial mastery of
current grade level expectations
2/P
Progressing
*With assistance, student demonstrates partial mastery of
current grade level expectations
3/M
Meets
*Student consistently meets and demonstrates mastery of
current grade level expectations
4/E Exceeds
*In addition to meeting the standard, the student makes application
beyond grade level expectations
*If a • is placed in an area of the report card,
this means that the skill was not assessed during that particular quarter.

Word Work/Making Big Words
Students practice new vocabulary, spelling, and linking known words
to new words
Literacy Centers
Students work in small groups on independent activities to reinforce reading and
writing skills
Read Aloud
Teacher is reading text to students
Shared Reading/Poem
Reading a poem and finding words with certain features
Guided Reading/Literature Circles

Homework is a nightly process.
– Reading is expected every night, it is part of your
nightly routine. Reading…Silently/Read Aloud10/15 minutes
– Word Study (Spelling):
• Twice a week

Dreambox 10 min twice a week
Homework
Homework will be found on my webpage. It will begin
sometime in early October.
How can you help at home?
– Flash cards

Behavior Management
Plan
• Get a Dragon Ticket for
outstanding behavior/following
school rules.
• Collect 15 Dragon Tickets for a trip
to the Treasure Box.
• Consequences for behavior: 1.
Remove from the activity. 2. Think
Sheet 3. Parents will be notified.

Breakfast: students may eat breakfast at school in
the morning when they first arrive
Snack : Quick, HEALTHY and clean 5 minute snack
– LOVE bananas, cereal, apple slices!
– NO PEANUTS, or PEANUT PROCUCTS please!
Lunch begins at 11:45 each day.
