Plant Study Guide Know the stages of a plant’s life cycle. (Be able to draw and label) 1. Seed sprouts 2. Seed begins to germinate - roots grow down, stem grows up (the plant is a seedling) 3. Plant is fully grown and makes flowers 4. Flowers make fruit which hold seeds Photosynthesis – The process by which plants make their own food. Interdependence – plants and animals needing each other. They help each other to live. Example – insects use plants for shelter and food and plants need insects for pollination. Know how plants help animals. – They provide food, shelter, a place to lay eggs, etc. Know products we get from plants – lumber, fiber, cotton, oil, spices, rubber, medicine, paper, etc.
