- Information Literacy Exercise: Research Process – Research questions

Choose a Handbook from “Handbooks (economics and management)” available from the
Course material on the website http://my.liuc.it/corsi/matsup.asp?COD=A83152

Loan it in the Library

Choose one chapter and read it synthetically.
Analyse the content, trying to understand the different topics you can find
i.e. Handbook of the Economics of Sports.
General topic of the chapter chosen: “Economics of cycling”
By reading the text you can find topics such as “Television rights in cycling”; “Employment in cycling”…

Write down the list of all the topics you can read about and image/create other relevant topics
starting from the text.

In pair: compare your list of topics with the one of your colleague for brainstorming. (Optional)
 Choose 3 topics and write down a list of possible research questions regarding them
- Please use the “yes/no question” to formulate the research question i.e. Topic 1: Employment in cycling
Research question 1: Is there a gender salary gap between professional riders in the world cycling
business?
Research question 2: ….
Research question 3: ….
Topic 2: …
Topic 3: …

Select only one topic among the topics you have found.

Select one research question.

Write down a list of citations of articles (5-10 titles) from databases “Proquest ABI.Inform”
and/or “ECONLit” that you could use to answer to that research question. You are not
requested to argue about the subject.
