March News Dear Parents, Thanks so much for helping to make our “Family Fun Night” a success! The donations were quite plentiful! The students seemed to enjoy all of the fun. It was great seeing everyone. It is hard to believe that March is here already. Spring Break will be from March 21st through March 25th. Please continue reading with your child daily, review sight words and letters of the alphabet. The students have been working on these skills in class as well as strategies to figure out unknown words. These include: looking at the picture, think about a word that would make sense, checking the beginning letter and last resort is sounding out the word. In math, we have been reviewing counting by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s to 100, shapes, patterns, comparing lengths, weights, and temperatures, coin recognition and counting groups of pennies and nickels. We have been telling time to the hour with an analog clock and the digital clock. We will begin introducing fractions soon. We will also be learning about the changes that occur in Spring and the country of Japan. Please continue reading with your child daily. The progress each child is making is very exciting! Sincerely, Mrs. Sisson and Ms. Preston
