Science: We will be learning about Scientific Investigation. 9/16 After school activities registration Virginia Studies: We will learn about the Virginia colony. 9/18 Grandparents Lunch PTO Movie Night Reading: We will read fiction and non-fiction, and make and listen to oral reports. 9/22 Donuts with Dad 9/29 Kick-Off for Watchdog Dads 9/30 Begin after school activities Birthdays Writing: We will write effective personal narratives and poetry. The nine weeks plans are posted on the fourth grade page on the Emerick School website. Dylan 1 Taj 23 Leah 29 Rebecca Rise Emerick Elementary School (540) 751-2440 Our Weekly Specials Schedule Class News Monday: Art Tuesday: PE, Music Wednesday: PE, Music, Search/Guidance Thursday: Computer Lab, PE Friday: Library, Computer Lab Lunch: 10:35-11:05 There was great turn out for the Open House on August 28! We have 21 students currently in our class. Students will be switching to Ms. Hamilton’s classroom for Virginia Studies each day this year. Students will have an opportunity to sign up for Chorus this month. Homework will begin the week of September 7: Monday through Thursday. Students will begin keeping a daily Reading Log the week of September 7. Reading Logs, and Word Study homework will require a parent signature each day. Homework for the week of August 31: Make a Biography Bag! Instructions are in the green folder. It is due on Sept. 4, when students will have an opportunity to share their bags with the class. You’re Invited… Back to School Night September 10 6:00 and 7:00 pm Room 302 I will be sharing important information you will need to start off the year. I look forward to seeing you there! Communication Students will bring home a Correspondence Folder each day. Please use this folder to send notes or other items back to school. Students will keep a daily agenda. Items such as homework, tests, word study lists, and important events will be listed in the agenda. Students will bring home a “Thursday” folder each week.
