In what ways do consumers affect our nutritional choices? How does proper nutrition and healthy practices affect your physical /mental body? Students will understand: That physical activity habits impact their entire life How to interpret the Components of Fitness The importance of Lifelong Fitness The importance of identifying activities that are appropriate for their level of fitness so they find the activity enjoyable. What does a physically active lifestyle look like? (Content standards, assessment anchors, eligible content) objectives, and skill focus) The skills, techniques, principles and knowledge of the components of fitness’ their effect on overall health that can be learned, refined and practiced. Demon. skills and understand their importance Recognize components of Fitness and their importance STAGE II – ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE PERFORMANCE TASK: Students are expected to demonstrate and understand basic skills and components of Fitness, attendance, portfolio completion and participation is required. OTHER EVIDENCE: Students will be evaluated daily, skill-tested, quizzes midterm, and final exam, written assignments and practical exams. STAGE III: LEARNING PLAN INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES: (Active Engagement, Explicit Instruction, Metacognition, Modeling, Scaffolding) Students will be presented with opportunities to evaluate, refine and practice lifetime skills for mastery. Students will model presenter with correct techniques for all MINI LESSON: Students will be introduced to Fitness assessment testing. MATERIALS AND RESOURCES: Student portfolios Requirement sheets Supplemental learning sheets INTERVENTIONS: Instructional adjustments will be made to address the learning needs of specific students. Use teaching strategies that motivate and promote students’ independence and creativity. Identify safety hazards, procedures . Identify individuals’ production and determine any individual corrections. Identify practices that promote lifelong fitness. Evaluate the effectiveness of lifting instruction, process and self-evaluation. ASSIGNMENTS: Students are expected to dress properly as required in the board approved PE dress code. Class participation is mandatory as well as documentation of performance for each class.
