A Peek at Our Weeks
Progress Reports
Progress reports will go home in the
next few days. Please look over the
papers and make notes so that we
can discuss any of your questions at
our next home visit.
Reminder: there is no school on Mon,
2/15.
We will be reading books about animals in
Polar Bear Polar What do you hear? (winter
animals), Panda Bear Panda Bear What do you
hear? and Brown Bear Brown Bear What do
you see? (a favorite book in our class) and
finishing The Mitten (a book about animals who
find shelter in the snow in a boy’s mitten). We
will do animal art projects, heart shaped
projects and more snow scenes which are
hanging in the hallway.
We will also talk about Valentine’s Day! Our kids
are very young and don’t yet understand giving
valentines so don’t feel you need to buy any for our
class.

Reminders and ?????
We’ve had lots of snow, haven’t we? Please
refer to the parent handbook that was sent
home in the fall, or the 2-hour delay
information that I emailed you as a reference
of what the hours are in case of a snow delay.
Please do send your child to school, when
possible.
I look forward to our monthly home visits;
please make sure we are scheduled for the
month of February. I will complete all annual
IEPs (that are due prior to September) in the
next 3 months. I want your input!
During the month we will also study the shape of
the heart and the color red. We have some favorite
games we play on the Promethean Board using
Sheppard Software, and PBS/ Sesame Street games
to reinforce shapes and colors.
Please point colors, shapes and
numbers out to your child (in
your house, on road signs). It
is a great way to reinforce
what they are learning.

The school will host a parent coffee on 2/19 in the morning.
The PTA is sponsoring a movie night and chili cook off on
Friday, Feb 19th. Feel free to come and join the chili
competition, or just come to eat and watch a movie.
The month of March our class will read parts of many Dr Seuss
books. The school will participate in many activities too:
Tuesday, March 1st ~ Character Day! Dress up as your favorite Dr
Seuss character!
Thursday, March 3rd ~ Crazy Sock Day ( Fox on Socks by Dr Seuss)
Friday, March 4th ~ PJ Day (The Sleep Book by Dr Seuss)
The school will host a parent coffee on 3/4 in the morning.
National Breakfast week is March 7-11th.
There will be a PTA bedtime story night on Friday, March 4th.
