Comparing a Cell to a Local Factory Information Factory: Twin City Foods, Inc. Local factory that processes fresh vegetables into frozen foods. Four plants in the nation: 3 in Washington and 1 in Michigan Products include: o Green Peas o Sweet Corn o Carrots o Green Beans o Baby Lima Beans Fresh vegetables are harvested from local fields and trucked to factory. Factory office determines when shipments will arrive and how to process the vegetables for sale. Processing includes: o Cleaning & Cutting Vegetables o Preparing Vegetables to be Frozen o Packaging Vegetables o Storage until products can be shipped to vendors Machinery must be cleaned and maintained while factory is processing vegetables.
