HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope everyone had a
splendid winter break—whether you were traveling,
enjoying time with family, or catching up on some sleep,
I’m sure you enjoyed the holiday season. I am looking
forward to 2016 and all the exciting things Room 32 will
accomplish!
With the new year, we will be kick starting some
new things in Room 32! One of the new resources we
will be testing out is called “KidBlog.” This is a blogging
website created for classrooms and teachers. Our class
is completely private, and the content can only be
accessed by our students. We will begin using KidBlog as
a domain to share, review, and discuss books that we
are reading. Students will be able to create posts and
reply to their classmates’ thoughts. This is an exciting
tool to grow as a community of readers! The log-in
information for KidBlog is posted on my website.
Check out the third grade website for some
photos of Room 32 in action! There are photos of our
field trip to Rock Ridge High School, our marshmallow
catapults, and our winter party festivities. We are quite
a photogenic bunch. 

RLC shirt, please visit the PTO website store
(there’s a link on the RLC school webpage) to
purchase online. Your child’s spirit wear will
be delivered to them. 
The last Friday of each month, RLC will have a
special spirit day!

Pictured Right: Room 32
explored graphing by creating
our very own bar graph—with
our own shoes! We discussed
how a bar graph is a way to
visually represent and compare
data. You can tell by our graph
that blue shoes had many more
shoes than red. You can also see
that black shoes and gray shoes
both have the same amount.
Graphing is pretty neat (and
smelly)! 
SOL Schedule
The SOL testing schedule has been posted on the
RLC website. Please review this schedule and be
sure to plan accordingly to these dates.
Reading: Wednesday, May 18th and Thursday, May

DreamBox
I hope that all of our students met their goal of
100 minutes a week of DreamBox of winter break!
Please be sure to send in your child’s DreamBox
log this week. DreamBox has been a fabulous
resource for our students to continually practice
math content, despite what we are currently
studying in the curriculum. Please continue to
encourage your child to work on DreamBox at
home, during the week and on the weekends.
