All in favor and the minutes are approved. Additions Or Corrections To Agenda: Jackie moves to strike student academic appointments, Mary moves to strike club recognition from the agenda. Approval of Agenda: Bryan motions to approve the agenda with the corrections, Brianne seconds. All in favor and the agenda is approved. Officer Reports Executive Vice President: Clint Wylie BODEVP@cwu.edu- he has been working with Lola to get the plaques and pictures up. He is still working for an art student for the art selection board. Jackie suggests an art senator who might be interested in holding this position. He plans to attend club senate, SAS and ESC this week. Vice President for Clubs and Organizations: Mary Orthmann BODClubs@cwu.edu- she has been working on publishing the recognition packet online to present to club senate. She is also working on her continuity binder. They had their insurance meeting last Wednesday and that went really well overall. Hopefully clubs will be able to use this system before spring quarter is up! Vice President for Academic Affairs: Jaclyn Sperlich BODAcademic@cwu.edu- last week they didn’t have a SAS meeting but they will be meeting this week! They are looking into by-law changes and looking into updating those in order to streamline operations and allocating funds. At this week’s meeting they are looking at reappointing members for next year. She was happy to host the candidates and have SAS be involved in this decision. She is also drafting a letter on the importance of appointing a senator and how SAS operates. SAS meets Friday in SURC 301 at 5:00. Vice President for Equity and Community Affairs: Bryan Elliot BODCommunity@cwu.edu- Language day is May 3 from 10:00-3:00, MECHA’s state conference is hosted in Ellensburg May 3-5 and Equal Pride week May 28-May 31. Vice President for Student Life and Facilities: Kelsey Furstenwerth BODStuLife@cwu.edu- Earlier this week, Simon Fraser came to CWU to look at our new SURC center. They are considering building a similar structure. This week, they are starting their photo campaign for the rec center with Wellington doing appropriate rec center actions. They are starting the wildcat advisory board; they have a really good team of students to kick off next year. Kj would like to meet with Kelsey and give a few suggestions for this board. It is currently an informal wildcat advisory board. Vice president for Legislative Affairs: Brianne Wood BODLeg@cwu.edu- Next week is their big event week! They are working on civics week with the entire second floor of the SURC, provost’s office, PULSE and dining etc. They have been collaborating with departments on campus to kick off and host college civics week. There will be examples of civil engagements, famous 1st amendment cases to match the festival. There will be a market place of ideas in the SURC where students can go and learn about first amendment cases. They will finish the week off with free food, free concert to promote student involvement. Her and her staff will be attending the Board of Trustees meeting and Saturday May 4th they will be working with WSA. President: KJ Stilling BODPresident@cwu.edu- Shout out to all of the students who participated in the downtown clean up! He was also able to work with the community members this past weekend. Tomorrow is the election debate at 6:00 in the SURC pit. Thursday is voting day! The BOD should get involved with student appreciation day, May 23rd.
