BY ACCEPTING THIS OFFER OF APPOINTMENT YOU CERTIFY YOU ARE LEGALLY AUTHORIZED TO BE EMPLOYED IN THE
UNITED STATES FOR AT LEAST THE DURATION OF THIS APPOINTMENT. If you are not presently a legal, permanent resident of the
United States, please note that CSUC does not pay for the immigration process or attorney fees. CSUC will facilitate the process, but the
responsibility to obtain and maintain appropriate work status belongs to the employee. Please contact the Office of International Education
(Phone 530-898-5415) as soon as possible for more information regarding obtaining appropriate work authorization. Should you accept this
offer, within three (3) days of arriving on campus you must present in person to the Human Resources Service Center (Kendall Hall, Room 220)
proof of identity and eligibility to work in order to be placed on the payroll.
You are required to complete payroll and personnel documents in the Human Resources Service Center (Kendall Hall, Room 220, 530-898-6771),
including an Oath of Allegiance, prior to the beginning of employment. Failure to do so will prevent the University from completing your appointment.
As an employee of The California State University, the rights and responsibilities of your position are governed by Federal and State law as well as the
policies and procedures of the Board of Trustees and the University. This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Board
of Trustees of the California State University and the United Auto Workers (http://www.uaw.org). Unit 11 CBA Article 2.8
All required documentation must be completed and submitted in time to be fully processed prior to the State Controller’s monthly cut-off date for that
month. If you miss the cut-off date, you will receive your first paycheck at least three to four weeks after all documentation has been submitted.
Please be aware that an Instructional Student Assistant cannot be employed by the University for more than a total of 20 hours per week in all positions
on campus. This may include employment on state agency funded research projects that support the student’s graduate educational objectives.
Appointments to other positions on campus, whether as student, staff, or faculty, are counted in this total.
