The Chair Development Fund will pay up to $400 for travel (one award per academic year) to one
professional meeting or event that affords development opportunities for Chairs in such areas
as departmental management and keeping abreast of important issues in the discipline and in
higher education (c. f. promotion and tenure of faculty, changing disciplinary and pedagogical
paradigms, assessment approaches, etc.) that one needs to know to administer the program.
