Station #3 Forest Animals of Maryland Location: Back Display Case of the Eyrie Display Case Seat students around the display case – make sure the light is on in the case. Place buckets (6 total) 5 vertebrate groups and 1 invertebrate group in front of the display case. Have the animal cards ready to give to give the students as they identify each animal in the case. Have students take turns locating an animal then placing the corresponding animal card into the correct bucket. (Ex. Deer belongs in the mammal bucket). Touch and Feel Boxes Divide students into two groups and assign one group to each box. Allow students to put their hand in the hole and feel the contents. They must identify the vertebrate group that the article represents before pulling the contents out of the box.
