Employee Self Service: Login Page
From your desktop or laptop computer:
 Go to http://eprofile.osu.edu to display your "My Home" page.
 Log in using your Ohio State Username (lastname.#) and password.
 Select the desired task from under one of the major categories that appear on the page.
Employee Self Service: View Paystub
To view information for a current or previous paycheck

Select the View Paystub link from your "My Home" page. Notice the most recent paycheck appears at the top of the
list.

Select an action.
o To view paycheck details in an Acrobat PDF, click the link in the "Paycheck Date" column.
o To download a copy of the page, click the Download button .

Click the My Home tab to exit the screen.
Note: A new feature called Paycheck Modeler is now available on Employee Self Service. This tool can be used to calculate a
hypothetical paycheck by changing earnings, deductions, and/or tax withholding status using the values that currently appear on
your paycheck as a base. For more information click the link for Paycheck Modeler.
Employee Self Service: Direct Deposit
Employees can enroll in Direct Deposit and automatically have their paychecks deposited to a
checking or savings account. There are two options: deposit the entire paycheck to one account or
split the paycheck by either an amount or percent. The Routing and Account numbers from the
employee’s checking or savings account are required to set up Direct Deposit. To do the setup:
 Select the Direct Deposit link on your "My Home" page.
 Click the Add Account button
the following information:
o Routing Number
o Account Number
o Account Type
o Deposit Type
o Amount or Percent
o Deposit Order (of processing)
 Click the Submit button
to create a new direct deposit account. Supply

 Click the Edit button
to make changes to an existing account or the Delete button
to remove a direct deposit account.
 Confirm any changes by clicking the OK button
 Click the My Home tab to exit the screen.

Employee Self Service: W-4 Tax Data
Employees can review or change their own W-4 information for federal, state and local taxes.

Select the W-4 Tax Information link from your "My Home" page.

Click the tab for the type of tax information you want to modify (W-4 Data, State Data, or Local Data).

Supply the information requested on the selected tab.

When finished, click the Submit button

Verify your identity by entering the last four digits of your Social Security number.

Confirm the change by clicking the OK button

Click the My Home tab to exit the screen.

Personal Information Summary
The Personal Information Summary provides a location where employees can review and edit contact information,
preferred name, marital status, and race/ethnicity information.
1. To make a change, click the button corresponding to the type of information (e.g.,

2. Make whatever changes are needed on the new form that appears.
3. When finished, click the Save

button as appropriate.

Payroll Pay dates
Ohio Public Employees Retirement System – OPERS

ALL OSU Employees are automatically enrolled in the Retirement System
• 10 % of each payroll check (before taxes) will be taken out & placed into an OPERS Retirement
Account

Graduate students have the choice to opt out of the Retirement System. If you choose NOT to participate
then:
a. Must meet the minimum credit hour requirement
– GAA, GRA, GTAs enrolled for at least 4 credits while working
– Post-candidacy doctoral enrolled for at least 2 credits while working
b. Complete the Request for Optional Exemption as a Student (OPERS) form and the
Form SSA-1945: Statement Concerning Your Employment in a Job Not Covered by
Social Security within 30 days of your hire date.
c. Return forms to OSU Office of Human Resources

**Note: Exemption forms received after 30 days of hire will not be accepted. Forms not completed correctly will not be accepted. If credit hour
requirement is not met deductions will be withheld until the criteria is met.
