Course Overview
The Design Process
Successful completion of design projects follow a well-established
procedure. Details vary, but the fundamental process is as follows:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
Identify customer needs.
Perform background research / benchmarking.
Generate project goals and performance specs.
Generate a list of potential solutions.
Analyze these solutions and select the most viable.
Complete a detailed design.
Implement and test the design.
To help you succeed and to allow better evaluation of your work,
we use this procedure as the MIME Capstone Design template.
