Elections: Deborah Markenson will be stepping down as co-chair of work group. Please submit
nominations for co-chair by July 3rd.
Updates:
MFH: New expanded school district list has been approved. They will be finalized in July. The school
program will be expanded in the existing counties. The Normandy School District will continue to
participate. St. Louis City schools will begin participating. A total of 12 new districts will be added to the
program this next school year. Some counties will see no expansion. But others will see multiple districts
join the program. Impact data has been collected by the evaluator.
Cole County Health Department: Jefferson City Schools have a wellness coordinator. The District has an
RD Food Service Director. She has received USDA fruit and vegetable program grants. The Health
Department is focusing on parochial schools.
Alliance for a Healthier Generation: Different funding sources have become available. Seven schools
have been nationally recognized. For 14-15 school year additional schools will not be recruited to
participate as Karen has a full enrollment. MO schools will continue to be encouraged to enroll online.
Healthy Out of School Time (HOST) will be launched in December. HOST is available to all out of school
time programs. Missouri has an Alliance ambassador this year from Eldon. This is an online Alliance
participant. The Alliance has a marathon team that is used to generate funding.
