What’s an upgrade?
◦ A process to replace all or part of a current system with
improved functionality and performance.

What is it NOT?
◦ Not a full implementation like we completed in FY 2009.

Why upgrade?
◦ Support for Banner 7 will discontinue at the end of FY
2010. This is a normal process for a vendor
◦ We also want to take advantage of new functionality in
the Banner 8 version.



Banner System will come down March 10th
5:00 p.m. (ct)
The system will come back up March 16th
8:00 a.m. (ct)
System is down Thursday (3/11), Friday
3/12), and Monday 3/15).


◦ March 10th - this is 5 days early
◦ For Exempt employees to record February leave
