disability by sex, Urban & Rural in 1984, 1994
& 2007
Scope of the Presentation
• The presentation is limited to 1984, 1994 &
2007 population and housing census of
Ethiopia, specifically on disability
Method of data collection and
Designing of Disability Questionnaire
• In the 2007 census Questions were
administered to every household member was
asked about the disability status
• Questioner are designed in collaboration with
the Federation of Disabled (to see the
questioner from disability perspective), with
AAU, CSA & other partners
• In 1994 census Questions were designed
based on 1984 census and other countries
experience. Questions were administered to
20% of the total households in each
enumeration area
