Dissemination of census data
using
CensusInfo
First
: Introduction
 In the framework of cooperation between the Central Agency for Public
Mobilization and Statistics and the Statistical Division of the United Nations
We developed dissemination of census data using CensusInfo, To take full
advantage of census data have been collected, and the use of appropriate
mechanisms for data analysis.
 Often be the end destination for dissemination of census data in tabular form,
whether in print or on the Internet
The process of making it boring and unattractive to users.
 Must be census data useful for public dialogue, it should be accessible to the
international community via the Internet in multiple languages.
 Users need to be able to access data quickly and easily in every detail of the custom:
by sex and age, at different levels of geographic areas, according to the time period
for comparison purposes of appropriate mechanisms for data analysis.
Second : What is CensusInfo
 The United Nations Statistics Division, in partnership with UNICEF and
UNFPA, has developed a free software package, CensusInfo to help countries
disseminate census data on CD-ROM and on the web.
 CensusInfo was officially launched at the 40th Statistical Commission in
February 2009.
 UNSD provides CensusInfo software with a proposed list of census indicators
and metadata in order to assist countries in setting up their own indicators and
metadata according to national priorities and needs.
 The primary objective of the session is to present experiences of countries using
CensusInfo to disseminate the results of their population /improve quality of
dissemination of census results.
Third: Main features of CensusInfo
The possibility of changing the user interface according to the country.
Possibility of changing the language (Arabic - English – French).
Create and graphic features to the database by ci-video.
Create a book simulates specific topics
(educational status -employment ...) through the use of (ci Book).

Displays the final results in the form (tables - Maps - graph).
Continued :Main features of CensusInfo

Can deal with the final results of absolute freedom, as well as
can be saved on the personal computer until needed.

The possibility of printing or save the final output fully (Table - Map Chart).

The ability to make comparisons and analysis of the final results of the
census.
Development of census data dissemination.

Development dissemination of census data
Classification to the (characteristics of geographic indicators
-
Demographic - Economic - Education – disability….).
Added percentages to the database where the percentages reflect
more than numbers.
Availability of metadata.
Availability Only specific information from the census (ex: female less
than 5 years) at the level of geographical area.
Can be chosen more than
one statement in different tables
(Total population - disability - educational status).
Search in Database (ex: literacy) to show all data on the subject of
research.
Comparisons between the census periods from 1996 to 2006.
