Mrs. Johnson’s November Newsletter Units for the Month: Animal changes/Bears Hibernating, Friendship/Being Thankful, Thanksgiving Key Measures: Animals change to prepare for winter. I am thankful for many things. Thanksgiving is a family tradition. We are thankful for food, family and friends. Vocabulary: Bears/Hibernating: snow, cold, hibernate, bear, season, cave, temperature Being Thankful/Thanksgiving: turkey, gobble, pilgrims, Indians, canoe, celebration, dinner, thankful, vegetables and fruits. Important Dates November 4th- Picture Retakes November 4-5 Papa John’s night November 9th-13th- Canned food Drive November 12th- Chick-Fil-A night (Bixby location only) November 13th -Pajama Day! Wear your pajamas and bring your favorite teddy bear! November 23rd –Friendship feast10:30am -Bring your camera. Nov. 19-Lucy Friendship Feast You are invited to a Friendship Feast on Monday, November 24th at 10:30 am. Each child will bring a food item to share and contribute to the feast. You all are wonderful!! Phonics Skills: The following letter and sounds have or will be covered: A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N,O, P, R, S, T, U, V, X, Z. I encourage you to help your child locate letters and talk about the sounds in their world! Language: We will work on recognizing rhymes and introduce working with syllables of words. We will continue to work on Storytelling and making books. We are learning the sight words: the, a, I, me, see, and you this month. Math: We will continue to recognize numbers 1-10 and show relationships between the number of objects and numerals. Cool Weather Please dress your child according to the weather for the day. We go outside twice a day, every day the weather permits. Also label all of your child’s jackets, glove/mittens, hats, etc. Be sure to change your child’s extra clothes that are in the backpack for cooler weather. Thank you!!
